We don’t often add an exclamation point on the subject line here at FDotD, but this one rates. Are you kidding us? $68 per sqft for a genuinely amazing home on 8 acres? That would seem to be well below replacement costs.

Poised behind an automatic security gate just outside Palo Cedro on the way up to Shingletown, this home is among the largest we’ve ever seen as a bank owned home. The garage alone, at 1564 sqft, is larger than most homes in our area. It’s located back off the highway enough to be nicely private, and it has several ponds on the acreage, probably seasonal. It seems to have never been completely finished, but it seems livable as it is. It seems they were going for a modern version of the Classic American Mountain Lodge look, like you might see in Yellowstone, and we’d say they got a good start achieving the goal.

Records indicate it is now an unwanted asset of JP Morgan Chase, and old JP himself might have been right at home here. Representing the bank/seller is foreclosure listing agent Kevin Burns of Coldwell Banker. He writes of it:
