Love to fish, but too lazy to actually leave your house? Where else in California can you find a waterfront home built in 2002 for under $175K? Nowhere but here. It’s 3/2 0f 1240 sq ft on .25 acre, according to the listing. Today’s FDotD is in Lake California, which longtime readers are familiar with, but if you are not there’s a link to their snazzy website HERE. It’s a large gated community halfway between Red Bluff and Redding on the Sacramento River. For most people a it’s a love/hate kind of place. Either you love it or hate it. There’s only one way to find out. This bank-owned property is listed by foreclosure listing broker Diane Abair of Bear’s Den Realty. She says:
“Home on the Water!!! Tiled flooring and vaulted ceilings, wallpaper, and crown molding.”
Of course you know already from the photo, that technically the home is next to the water, not on it. And it’s not often that we’ve heard foreclosure listing agents brag that their home has wallpaper either, but hey, you see something new every day in real estate. The photos of this house seem to be the size of postage stamps, but there’s a link to the listing HERE, along with some others on Sloop ranging from $68K for dirt, to $396K for a 3/2 1442 sq ft house, ironically described as having lots of “ELBOW ROOM,” which we suppose depends on the size of your elbows.

There’s actually no way to get into the community for a look without an agent accompanying you, but we’re always happy to meet you out there or take you out there, whatever you like. No obligation.

Lake California was a tough area for sales for a while, but it seems to have made a quite a comeback lately. There are now only 50 homes listed for sale out there, which is way down, less than half from the peak of last year’s daily inventory. HERE is a link to the list. Looks like people are beginning to to pick up the deals out in Lake California. Could be you?
